Welcome to the Diablo Valley Chapter of the Japanese
American Citizens League (JACL)
The Diablo Valley Chapter has
been involved in issues such as redress, education about the Japanese
American World War II wartime experiences, hate crimes and college scholarships.
The Diablo Valley Chapter is
one of over one hundred chapters of a national organization of more than
20,000 members. The national JACL has grown to be the nation's oldest
and largest Asian American civil rights organization.
While the national JACL's original
mission was focused on protecting the civil rights of Americans of Japanese
ancestry, today we have expanded our commitment to protecting the human
and civil rights of all segments of Americans who fall victim to social
injustice in the United States.
We invite you to join our organization (and no, you do not have to be
of Japanese ancestry to be a member).
We also invite you to explore
the links to the national
JACL website and the Japanese
American National Museum.
